Self-teaching
The patient is self-taught in 20-30 minute sessions at their own
learning pace.
Nurse Diane teaches patients how to use the
system and interacts with them.
Paperwork
Handouts, take-home videotapes and paperwork are all prepared
by Nurse Diane.
Documentation for the patient's medical record
is produced in paper form or electronically.
Lesson Library
A vast library of patient lessons is always available. Nurse Diane contains information
and typical lessons required for patients, such as pre-admission instructions,
patient rights and safe use of medicine. It contains discharge instructions
for most medical conditions and medicines prepared by McKesson's Clinical Reference
Systems. Health videos can be included, along with lessons on health and safety
topics.
